The seed for Love+Water designs was planted in September 2009 by Alexis Fedor, a writer and actor in New York City, with the blog www.loveandwaterinternational.com. By featuring artists and charities each day on the blog, she wanted to create a company with philanthropy and artistry at its core. Her vision was to build a community that creates Wearable Philanthropy: clothing created for and inspired by organizations doing good in the world, and that gives back to those organizations on a regular basis. She was soon able to launch Love+Water designs; a place where artists are supported and connected, charities thrive, and a greater social awareness is inspired and boldly created.
Alexis Fedor, Executive Director email@example.com Alexis is an actor, dancer and writer in NYC with a love for utilizing her artistic passions to give back to those doing good in the world. After careful consideration of how she wanted to spend her time when not acting, she decided she wanted to create a community-based company that thrives on giving back to charities. So she took a walk around the Central Park reservoir one beautiful July morning in 2009, and when she came around to where she started she had the idea for what would become Love+Water designs. Since then she has worked on building a community of artists and charities who are passionate about contributing to such a concept, which has been more rewarding than she could have ever anticipated. Alexis is a graduate of NYU with a degree in cross-cultural dance and theater. She is a member of the Writers Guild, has written one book, two plays, and is the creator of the new web series, “Gray Matters.”
Caley Vickerman, Youth Director firstname.lastname@example.org Caley is an Actor/Educator, the proud Director of Youth Outreach for Love + Water Designs, and (most recently) Haiku Mistress of the Guerilla Haiku Movement. She is passionate about creating opportunities for people (young and slightly less young) to engage with one another in acts of story-telling. She believes that the designers and charities that Love + Water features share her desire to tell the compelling and profound stories of people through their own media of image and action. And she is inspired daily by the myriad ways in which Love + Water community members give back to our world. Spread the Love (+ Water)!
Megan Walsh, Youth Division email@example.com Megan, a Chicago native, is currently a senior at New York University studying Music and Psychology with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. Megan began working with Love + Water designs this past summer facilitating Youth Outreach. She is so grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing, brilliant individuals who share her passion for fostering positive change and awareness through the creative arts
Victoria McNally, Social Media is one of the social media interns for Love+Water Designs. Currently she is a senior at New York University studying English, Creative Writing, and Communications, as well as the Assistant Business Manager for an all-female a cappella group on her campus, the NYU Cleftomaniacs. She hopes to go into publishing, editing, or writing when she graduates and enjoys music, poetry, and nerdy pop culture. She’s excited to have an opportunity to make a difference through working with Love+Water, and hopes that you all like the blog posts and newsletters she writes!
